Renewed support to our student community

It is with deep gratitude that we announce that our generous donors have renewed their support for two scholarship programs created last year: the Career Transition Scholarship and the INRS Foundation Board Scholarship.

The senior executives of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS)—CEO Luc-Alain Giraldeau, Director of Administration Isabelle Boucher, Secretary General Michel Fortin, and Scientific Director Claude Guertin—timed the renewal of their support to coincide with Giving Tuesday, the world day of solidarity and generosity. Their gesture also prompted Simon-Pierre Pouliot, Chief of Staff and Government Relations, to contribute to the scholarship. Announced in November 2021 and offered in the winter of 2023, the 2022-2023 Career Transition Scholarship is intended to provide support to new students who are returning to higher education after different personal and professional experiences.

In addition, the Chair of the Foundation’s Board, Me Martine Vanasse, also confirmed the renewal of the INRS Foundation Board Scholarship for 2023-2024. The scholarship, whose first competition opened this fall and whose results will be announced in early 2023, aims to encourage and support more female students at the master’s or doctoral level in the Energy Materials and Telecommunications Centre’s training programs, where women are under-represented.

On behalf of the entire INRS community, we warmly thank our donors for contributing to the success and well-being of our student community! Happy Giving Tuesday to all!
