2021-2022 Audited Financial Statements
The INRS Foundation releases its audited financial statements for the year ended 30 April 2022. This was a first year of operation for the INRS Foundation, which took over the responsibilities of the Philanthropic Development and Alumni Relations Department of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS). This first independent external audit was conducted by accounting firm Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and was overseen by the Foundation’s Audit and Finance Committee, chaired by its Treasurer, Anne-Pascale Richardson.
The financial statements were approved by the INRS Foundation board of directors and presented to the Annual General Meeting of Members on 31 August 2022. The Members reappointed the external auditor for the fiscal year 2022-2023.
In the interest of transparency, we are making the document available for public consultation on our website. Last June, the Foundation also published its first Impact Report for the year 2021-2022.
This year, our Audit and Finance Committee was composed of :
- Anne-Pascale Richardson, treasurer and committee chair, AquaHacking program manager at AquaAction, and a graduate of the PhD program in Biology (2009);
- Cynthia Bélanger, director appointed by the INRS Board, vice-president, Development, Business Transfer and Financing at Desjardins; and
- Olivier Joyal, director, executive vice president, Land and environment, Strategy and execution, and ESG business line leader at WSP Canada.
The launch of operations and the publication of audited financial statements are key milestones in the rollout of the INRS Foundation. Created in May 2020 to accelerate the outreach and development of INRS, it was registered as a charitable organization in May 2021.
We extend our warmest thanks to all our friends, volunteers and donors for their invaluable support in the success of this first year of financial operation.
