Celebrating 55 years of INRS

The INRS Foundation was featured in a special section celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) in the 18-19 May edition of Le Devoir.

Olivier Joyal, Executive Vice-President, Client Programme and ESG Leader, Interim Regional Leader, Quebec, WSP in Canada, and a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, points out that INRS’s scientific teams often work in partnership with the public and private sectors to develop solutions and innovations that respond to concrete problems.

Mylany David, mediator, lawyer and partner at Langlois Avocats, and Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, hopes that these links will bear fruit and that philanthropic donations to scientific research will become a more natural reflex in business communities.

Elise Comtois, Executive Director of the Foundation, highlights the graduates of INRS, one of its greatest contributions to society, and the efforts of the Foundation’s team to promote them.

“Whether in the fields of global health, the energy transition or climate change, the major and complex challenges facing society require us to pull together and invest in science in an unparalleled way,” she says.

Our three outstanding alumni who won the 2024 Prix Lumières Awards were also in the spotlight on page D10: Claudie Noël, Caroline Chapain and Isabelle Caron.

A very happy anniversary to INRS! Our team is thrilled to support the efforts of its scientific, student, and alumni community, which spares no effort to change the world through science.
