A prestigious recognition for our president

The directors of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) have named the Chair of the INRS Foundation, Me Martine Vanasse, to the Cercle d’excellence de l’Université du Québec in recognition of her invaluable commitment to the development and influence of the INRS. The award was presented to her by Université du Québec President Johanne Jean and INRS CEO and Foundation Secretary, Luc-Alain Giraldeau, at a ceremony attended by the governors of the Université du Québec network, which took place at the Grand Théâtre de Québec on September 27.

Inaugural Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors since its inception in May 2020, Ms. Vanasse contributes concretely to the economic, scientific and cultural development of Quebec through her volunteer and philanthropic commitment to INRS’ community of scientists, students, and graduates.

Chief Compliance Officer at PSP Investments and a graduate of McGill University, Martine Vanasse began her career with the firm Davies. She has acquired more than 25 years of experience in the financial sector. She has returned to Montréal after 20 years abroad where she held senior positions with renowned companies, including Credit Suisse, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Natixis.

We extend our warmest congratulations and express our most sincere gratitude to Ms. Vanasse for her sustained commitment and unwavering leadership to the Foundation.

Each year, the heads of the ten institutions in the Université du Québec network highlight the exceptional contribution of one of their members, whether a professor, researcher, manager or other staff member, by appointing them to the Cercle d’excellence de l’Université du Québec.

Kudos to all award winners!
