Welcome to our new alumni
In 2022-2023, no less than 175 alumni will join the network of INRS graduates, a new generation of scientists capable of innovation for Quebec and the world. The Foundation’s team is delighted to welcome them in person at the Palais Montcalm in Quebec City today.
For this occasion, the spirit will be festive. We will be handing out some fifteen door prizes thanks to the support of our sponsors, as well as our brand new—yellow!—reusable tote bags to carry your new diploma so proudly deserved. In addition to recognizing your success, dear graduates who have demonstrated perseverance and overcome the many challenges of producing quality research under pandemic conditions, we hope to allow you to keep a living link with INRS and its vibrant student and scientific community.
I am particularly pleased to be able to mark the third anniversary of the INRS Foundation with you. Created in May 2020—a pandemic creature!—the Foundation is dedicated to accelerating the development of INRS and to putting the spotlight on its alumni.
To date, thanks to the generosity of members of the greater INRS community and our partners, we have awarded over $250,000 in scholarships, prizes and emergency financial assistance to INRS students.
We also showcased some eighty graduates by highlighting their successes and achievements. It’s a pleasure to interact with them and share their inspiring stories. Their paths are all different, but the common thread is that they have used their scientific training to seize professional opportunities, each more exciting than the last, whether they are related to our study programmes or not.
Today, the Foundation is also awarding the Prix Lumières Awards for the fourth time, as well as the prizes for the best master’s theses or essays and the best doctoral theses in each of our four centres. I would like to take this opportunity to warmly congratulate all the winners. I hope that you will find them inspiring and that their stories will inspire you to go further and to tell us yours.
The INRS Foundation is your Foundation, it exists by, for, and with you. This is why I invite you to update your contact information and to keep in touch with us in order to benefit from the strength of a network of some 3,600 alumni who, like you, rely on science to contribute every day to the economic, social and cultural development of our society.
Warmest congratulations and thank you for keeping in touch!
See you soon,
