Four new INRS Foundation grants to support and recognize our student community

It is with great pride that the INRS Foundation team announces the launch of four new scholarships to support, encourage and recognize the work of members of the INRS student community. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, eight students will receive a total of $24,000 in financial support this spring, in addition to the conditions offered to them by INRS.

Career Transition Scholarship

All Centres • Deadline: April 5, 2023

In line with the Institut national de la recherche scientifique's (INRS) goals of equity, diversity and inclusion, INRS senior management has created the INRS Career Transition Award. The new $5,000 scholarship, awarded for the first time in the winter of 2023, is designed to provide support to new students who are returning to school after a variety of personal and professional experiences.

Andrea Rovere Scholarship

Centre Energy Materials Telecommunications research centre • Deadline: April 5, 2023

Offered thanks to the generosity of the INRS community, his relatives and friends, this scholarship was created in memory of the brilliant INRS graduate and generous postdoctoral researcher of Italian origin Andrea Rovere. Until 2021, he has, during his promising academic career, focused his research on a new type of nanostructures capable of generating electrons with high intensity terahertz waves. The first $2,000 scholarship will be awarded in April to doctoral students enrolled in the INRS Energy Materials Telecommunications Centre.

INRS Foundation Leadership and Engagement Scholarship

All Centres • Deadline: April 5, 2023

Offered at the initiative of the INRS Foundation team members and funded through payroll deduction for the first time in the winter of 2023, the INRS Foundation Leadership and Engagement Scholarship aims to recognize and value student leadership and engagement at the community, social, associative or other level that contributes to the vitality of our community.

Université du Québec Scholarships 

All centers • Deadline: April 5, 2023

No less than five $3,000 Université du Québec Scholarships are offered in 2022-2023 to promote accessibility to university studies and to enhance the diversity of the student community at INRS. The scholarships improve the conditions of study offered by INRS to the winners.
