Moving reunion of six INRS-EAU 1974 graduates

On October 17, INRS's Centre Eau Terre Environnement in Quebec City hosted a landmark reunion. Alumni of the 1974 INRS-EAU cohort gathered to celebrate 50 years since their graduation. This exceptional event brought together four alumni who took the time to get together, discuss their career paths and share their memories after half a century of professional and personal life scattered across Quebec and Ontario.

Our graduates also had the chance to meet four of their former professors, Bernard Bobée, Peter Campbell, Michel LeclercAndré Tessier and Jean-Pierre Villeneuve, still active in the scientific community, as well as current professors and students from the Centre. It was a day rich in emotions and discussions on the evolution of water sciences and contemporary challenges.

INRS General Director Luc-Alain Giraldeau and INRS Foundation Executive Director Élise Comtois sent them a video message, highlighting the lasting impact of their training at INRS and the importance of their contribution to the scientific community and society.

The INRS Foundation team is delighted to have facilitated this cohort's reunion, demonstrating its commitment to maintaining links within the graduates community. Many thanks to the teams at the Centre Eau Terre Environnement for their invaluable collaboration in making this event a success.

The participants shared with us a very complete summary of this day of reunion, which you can read here.

The next gathering of INRS graduates and friends will take place in Boston, on December 5, 2024. There's still time to register by emailing us.
