The INRS Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the 7th edition of the Prix Lumières, a unique opportunity to celebrate remarkable careers that have had a meaningful impact on society. These awards highlight graduates who, through their commitment, leadership, or achievements, contribute to the advancement of science and the values of INRS.
Since 2020, these awards have recognized members of our community whose journeys inspire others, both here in Quebec and around the world.
Why submit a nomination?
Every graduate has a story to tell and an influence to share. The Lumières Awards are an opportunity to:
- highlight individuals whose careers illustrate the importance of science in society;
- promote the impact of INRS, both locally and internationally;
- inspire the next generation and the entire community through exemplary career paths.
Three categories to celebrate diverse backgrounds
Applications may be submitted in one of the following three categories:
- Firestarter Award • This award is presented to young graduates (aged 40 or under) whose promising early careers are a source of inspiration for our student community.
- Trailblazer Award • This award celebrates graduates who have distinguished themselves through their exceptional careers and commitment to their communities, both in Quebec and elsewhere in the world. The aim is to highlight individuals who have been on their career path for at least a decade since completing their studies at INRS.
- Starburst Award • This award honors a graduate's exceptional commitment to the growth and contribution of INRS to the economic, social, or cultural development of Quebec. In addition to the quality of the individual and their career of at least 15 years since obtaining their last degree from INRS, we seek to recognize people who promote INRS and embody what our institution does best.
The nomination period ends on March 20, 2026. Don't miss this chance to shine a spotlight on graduates who inspire you!
Thank you for helping to showcase the talents of our community and celebrate journeys that illustrate the excellence and diversity of the INRS community.
