Our fall scholarships

The fall competitions for scholarships offered by the INRS Foundation are now open. INRS students: take the opportunity to submit your application for one of the thirteen scholarships offered in our five different programs. Don’t delay, the deadlines are November 4 and December 9, 2024, depending on the scholarship.

Our scholarships are designed to support, encourage and recognize the work of members of the INRS student community. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, seven students will receive financial support totalling $75,000, which will enhance the conditions offered to them by INRS. This year, two new scholarships have been added in the field of reproductive health, thanks to the support of the Fondation Rita Henry-Breault et Gilles Breault.

Career Transition Scholarship

All centers • Deadline: December 9, 2024 • 1 x $5,000

In line with INRS’s objectives of equity, diversity and inclusion, the institute’s senior management has created the INRS Career Transition Scholarship. Awarded for the first time in winter 2022, the scholarship is designed to provide support to new students returning to school after a variety of personal and professional experiences. INRS Foundation Board Scholarships

Centre Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications • Deadline: December 9, 2024 • 2 x $2,500

Drawing on the generosity of the members of the INRS Foundation Board of Directors, two $2,500 scholarships have been offered since 2022 to recruit and support more female master's and doctoral students in the training programs of the Centre Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications, where women tend to be under-represented. The scholarship enhances the study conditions offered by INRS to the recipient.

Rio Tinto scholarships for diversity in science at INRS

All centers • Deadline: December 9, 2024 • 2 x $15,000

These scholarships are designed to promote the representation of a diverse range of students in the sciences. More specifically, they support women, people from sexual or gender minorities, people with disabilities, aboriginal people, people from racialized or ethnic minorities and neurodivergent people in the next generation of scientists trained at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) to tackle the various issues affecting the environment and sustainable development. The bursary enhances the study conditions offered by INRS to the recipient.

Fondation J.A. DeSève Student Success Scholarship *New formula!*

All centers • Deadline: December 9, 2024 • 6 x $5,000

The J. A. DeSève Foundation Student Success Bursaries recognize the perseverance of master's and doctoral students at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique by offering them the conditions they need to complete their program of study. This year, members of the student community from all centers are eligible. The bursary enhances the conditions of study offered by INRS to the winner.

Suzanne-Parenteau Scholarship *New!*

Center Armand-Frappier Santé Biotechnologie • Deadline: November 4, 2024 • 1 x $3,000

Offered for the first time this year, the Suzanne-Parenteau Scholarship, created thanks to a donation from the Fondation Rita Henry-Breault et Gilles Breault, is designed to provide financial support for INRS students conducting research and knowledge mobilization work that will enhance our understanding of the role and effects of endocrine disruptors on female reproductive health and the mammary gland. This scholarship enhances the study conditions offered by INRS to the recipients.

Fondation Rita Henry-Breault et Gilles Breault Scholarship *New!*

Center Armand-Frappier Santé Biotechnologie • Deadline: November 4, 2024 • 1 x $2,000

The Rita Henry-Breault and Gilles Breault Foundation Scholarship has been available since fall 2024 to provide financial support for INRS students conducting research and knowledge mobilization work that enhances our understanding of the social aspects of the quest for pregnancy and the use of mobile fertility applications. This scholarship enhances the study conditions offered by INRS to the recipients.

Applications will be evaluated by INRS faculty committees administered by the Graduate Studies and Student Success Department.

As last year, additional scholarship programs will be offered in Winter 2025.
