The INRS Foundation announces the appointment of Valérie Lemieux as an external member of its Investment Committee. An experienced senior executive in the financial sector, she has extensive experience in team management, complex transactions, and supporting corporate and institutional clients in Canada and internationally.

Throughout her career, Ms. Lemieux has held strategic positions at major financial institutions, notably leading the integration of HSBC Canada following its acquisition by RBC. A pioneer in sustainable finance in Canada, she has been involved since 2015 in structuring a responsible financing framework to support organizations in their transition.

This is fully in line with the Foundation's commitments to responsible investing. By appointing Ms. Lemieux to its Investment Committee, the Board of Directors is adding further expertise to support the integration of ESG factors into investment decisions.

“It is an honor to join the INRS Foundation and to be able to support the INRS mission. Since its creation in 1969, INRS has been innovating through research and contributing to Quebec's socioeconomic development.”

Recognized for her leadership, she is regularly invited to panels and conferences and is committed to mentoring young talent.

This fall, the Governance, Ethics, and Human Resources Committee issued a call for applications. They were looking for someone with expertise in investments and investment policies in academic or philanthropic settings, as well as exemplary ethical standards, to join the Investment Committee. Thanks to her expertise and commitment to the Foundation's mission, Ms. Lemieux stood out from the crowd.

The INRS Foundation is proud to welcome Ms. Lemieux to its Investment Committee and looks forward to benefiting from her expertise in ensuring the sustainability and responsible growth of the funds entrusted to it to support the INRS's contribution to Quebec's development.
