On this World Water Day, the INRS Foundation wishes to highlight the importance of drinking water and the preservation of this invaluable resource.

Did you know that INRS is the only institution in Quebec to award a master's degree and a doctorate in water-related sciences? The Centre Eau Terre Environnement provides the specialized knowledge needed to study the problems of this essential resource.

The INRS Foundation is proud to have in its portfolio of Impulse projects the Chair in Sustainable Water Management of Sophie Duchesne, professor at the Centre Eau Terre Environnement and specialist in hydrology and urban infrastructure. Professor Duchesne's research interests focus on urban water management, including stormwater and wastewater management, management of drinking water distribution networks, planning of urban water infrastructure renewal, and the impact of urban water on natural watercourses and their watersheds.

Researchers are working to address this major challenge and are collaborating to find sustainable solutions to preserve drinking water quality for our collective well-being.
