The Foundation is committed to achieving the SDGs
Aspiring to and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is at the heart of the INRS Foundation’s philanthropic development activities. To make this commitment even more concrete and visible, we are adopting the United Nations (UN) pictograms to demonstrate our support for this framework and to illustrate the alignment of our activities to the SDGs.
You can already see them on the page describing the different scholarships offered by the Foundation. The use of the pictograms and the #SDG hashtag will gradually appear in our news and communications.
“Clearly connecting sustainability goals to our various initiatives in support of the INRS community will guide our decisions, encourage reflection on the scope of our actions, and highlight our efforts to contribute, in our own capacity, to a better and more sustainable future for all.”
—Élise Comtois, Executive Director
“17 goals to transform our world”
According to the United Nations, the Sustainable Development Goals present a roadmap to a better and more sustainable future for all. “They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace and justice. The goals are interconnected and, in order to leave no one behind, it is important to achieve each of them, and each of their targets, by 2030.”
Sustainable Development at INRS
Making the world a better place is at the heart of INRS’s mission to serve Quebec’s economic, social and cultural development. The launch of its institutional action plan on sustainable development for 2022-2025 demonstrates the scientific research and training institution’s commitment to the UN’s SDGs and involves its entire community in its efforts to innovate for the well-being of communities and environmental protection.
