The INRS Foundation warmly congratulates Chadi Ouechtati, a master's student in experimental health sciences, on receiving a $520 scholarship supplement from an honorary campaign to support his studies.
This support is the result of the generosity of donors who contributed to a fundraiser organized in tribute to André Hamon, the father of an INRS employee. Wishing to honor his memory and support research into neurodegenerative diseases, from which he suffered, his daughter mobilized the INRS community to offer concrete support to students whose research is in this field.
Selected by a faculty committee at the Armand-Frappier Santé Biotechnologie Center, Chadi Ouechtati stands out for the quality of his academic background and work. This additional support will help him continue his scientific training with confidence.

- What brought you to INRS? What stands out from your experience?
I chose INRS for the quality of its programs and the excellence of its scientific environment. My interest in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease, strongly influenced my decision to join this institute. My experience at INRS has allowed me to develop scientific rigor and critical thinking skills in a stimulating environment. - Can you describe the challenge and impact of your research project?
My project focuses on the link between oral microbiota and the brain in Alzheimer's disease. It aims to better understand the role of inflammation and infections in brain health. In the long term, this work could contribute to the identification of new biomarkers and therapeutic avenues to improve diagnosis and prevention. - What does receiving this support mean to you?
This support represents significant recognition of my commitment to research. It allows me to work in better conditions and focus fully on my scientific goals.
The INRS Foundation is proud to contribute to the advancement of students who enhance our institution's reputation through the rigor and importance of their research.
Congratulations to Chadi Ouechtati on this financial support, and best wishes for continued success.
