This spring, the INRS Laval Campus hosted an initiative that was as original as it was soothing: the “Biquette à l’INRS” project, an urban eco-grazing activity that combines environmental awareness, well-being, and contact with nature.
To support this initiative led by the Sustainable Development Committee, the INRS Foundation is proud to have provided financial support for a workshop combining education and conflict resolution.
From May 5 to 17, about ten sheep from the organization Biquette-Écopâturage took up residence on the grounds of Campus Laval, offering the student body and staff a unique space to relax surrounded by nature. Several activities were offered during their stay, including a meditation session with the sheep, a plant-based dyeing workshop, a nature information booth, and a needle-felting workshop.
In addition to promoting moments of relaxation and reducing stress, this project has helped raise community awareness of environmentally friendly practices. Eco-grazing is, in fact, a sustainable approach to maintaining green spaces, contributing to the protection of ecosystems while creating opportunities for learning and exchange.
Through its support, the INRS Foundation aims to encourage unifying and creative projects that enrich the student experience and raise the profile of the Laval Campus within the community.
