2024 Prix Lumières Awards Thin2024 Prix Lumières Awards • 5th anniversary edition!

Don’t miss out! The fifth edition of the Prix Lumières Awards competition is ongoing. Until March 24, members of the INRS community are invited to shine the spotlight on alumni from our various research and training centers who inspire, distinguish and inspire pride.

For more than 55 years, INRS has been training the next generation of scientists capable of leadership and innovation to better understand and solve complex questions on strategic issues for our society. To date, more than 3,600 master’s and doctoral graduates are working in various spheres of activity, in Quebec and around the world. Our Prix Lumières awardees illustrate the inestimable potential of our alumni network.

Our Lumières are bright and shining. They are remarkable graduates who emphasize the importance of science in society, and who promote the relevance and excellence of research and training activities at INRS.

This distinction recognizes their inspiring actions, achievements and career paths, which embody the mission and values of INRS, as well as contributing to the influence and development of their alma mater.

Our Lumières awards recognize the achievements of our outstanding graduates in three categories:

  • Prix Étincelle Award • This prize is awarded to young graduates (aged 40 or under) whose promising early careers are a source of inspiration for our student community.
  • Prix Éclat Award • This award celebrates alumni who have distinguished themselves through their exceptional careers and their commitment to their communities, both in Quebec and elsewhere in the world. We aim to highlight those who have spent at least a decade on the path since completing their studies at INRS.
  • Prix Rayonnement Award • This award honours the exceptional commitment of an alumnus or alumna to the advancement and contribution of INRS to the economic, social or cultural development of Quebec. In addition to the quality of the individual and his or her career of at least 15 years since obtaining his or her last diploma at INRS, we seek to highlight people who make INRS shine and embody the best of what our institution does.

Since 2020, the INRS Foundation has honored thirteen alumni whose exceptional career paths and achievements inspire the entire INRS community. We’re counting on you to continue the tradition. Nominate a colleague or alumnus before March 24, 2024. Our 2024 Prix Lumières awardees will be announced at the INRS Convocation in Montreal on May 11. We are planning a special event to mark the competition’s 5th anniversary in the wake of the event. Stay tuned!

Help them shine
