Jean-François Côté, a 1996 graduate of the Master in Experimental Sciences program at the Centre Armand-Frappier of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique, is taking the helm of the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal. Appointed interim president and scientific director in June, he takes up his new duties this month.

A researcher at the IRCM for 16 years, Prof. Côté is internationally recognized for his research on metastasis. He is a full professor and vice-president of research and academic affairs. Prof. Côté is also a full research professor in the Department of Medicine at the Université de Montréal, an assistant professor in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at McGill University, and a grant holder of the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé. 

Affiliated with the Université de Montréal, the IRCM conducts fundamental and clinical biomedical research and training.
